Nausea

One of the distinctive early signs of pregnancy is nausea. Many women associate it with stomach flu or food poisoning etc. Some women may experience morning sickness (which can unfortunately stay during the entire day till evening too) in their first trimester. However, if you experience nausea continuously which does not subside with time, then you must assume that you are pregnant. A pregnancy test will confirm if it is true. Do not worry about feeling nauseated all day long; this symptom will subside as you enter the second trimester.

Tenderness and Swelling in Breasts

Swelling and tenderness in breasts is an early sign of pregnancy which appears soon after the conception. This symptom informs the woman that her body has naturally started preparing itself for the arrival of the baby.

Irregular appetite

There are many women whose appetite improves and they feel hungry more often when they are pregnant. It is genuinely a natural process as the body of the pregnant woman requires more nutrition as it needs to feed the developing embryo too. On the other hand, there are many women who experience a complete loss of appetite. And in some cases, the same woman may experience increased appetite or lost appetite on different days. These changing pattern of appetite is linked with other early pregnancy symptoms.

Fatigue

If you are feeling tired or exhausted all of a sudden, it could be an early sign of pregnancy. This is a natural response of your body to the increase in hormones. However, there can be other reasons too. It could be related to the chemistry of your body or the activities that a woman needs to do soon after the conception. Your baby uses up your energy too. Many women experience tiredness throughout the first trimester which ultimately ebbs in the second. It would be advisable to sleep more if you are experiencing such fatigue. Fatigue easily goes away once your baby starts stabilizing.

Frequent Urination

If you are unable to sleep properly due to your frequent trips to the loo lately, then do not ignore as it may be a sign that you are pregnant. Extra fluids are produced during pregnancy for which your bladder needs to work overtime.

Spotting

Many a times, during early pregnancy, women notice a pink or brown colored stain in their knickers. This could be due to the fact that egg is being implanted in your uterus or it could be due to the fact that hormones controlling your periods are kicking in. It is common to have some spotting in those days when your period is due.

Apart from the above mentioned symptoms, there are few more signs that indicate you are pregnant such as a headache, backache, cramps, cravings for a particular food stuff, constipation or bloating etc. But do not worry, all these symptoms will subside. It’s time to celebrate, after all you are pregnant!
